About Us

Melanie Nelson Gibbons is founder and principal of Cull & Tend.  She is a veteran corporate marketing executive who has held senior positions at CBRE (formerly Barnes Morris), Friedman, Billings & Ramsey and CoStar Group.  She has learned, first hand, that nothing is more important than the customer’s experience.   

In addition to her corporate background, Melanie has honed her skills at organizing, interior design, home staging and home renovation.  She is passionate about helping others create a beautiful and clutter-free environment, one that reflects their current lifestyle and gives them joy – and she is particularly focused on helping seniors who want to downsize or age-in-place safely.  She is supported by a terrific team of organizers, movers, appraisers, designers and contractors.   

Melanie has two children, ages 20 and 17, and lives in Chevy Chase, Maryland.

Carol Seitz brings to Cull & Tend more than 25 years of communications, strategic planning, and project management at public relations firms and nonprofits including the National Trust for Historic Preservation and National Geographic. She has managed project teams, multiple vendors, donors, top executives and government officials. She knows the importance of shared goals, agreed upon plans, and managing strict timelines.  

In addition to a life-long love and appreciation for architecture and interior design, Carol really understands the downsizing/relocation process.  She and her sister moved their father out of his home of 40 years into an independent living apartment.  Helping clients and their children make this often overwhelming and emotional move into a positive and exciting one is what drives her at Cull & Tend.  

Carol has two children, ages 22 and 19, and lives with her husband in the Chevy Chase, D.C., where she was elected and served as an Advisory Neighborhood Commissioner.
